Highlights & Route
Angkor Wat is the largest religious monument on earth, and it was built, in the twelfth century, as a temple to Vishnu. For an Indian yatri walking its galleries, the churning of the ocean of milk, the battle of Kurukshetra and the Ramayana unfold in stone exactly as they do in our own puranas, carved by Khmer artisans half a world away. This six-day programme stays in one hotel in Siem Reap and spends four full days among the temples of the Angkor region and the countryside around it.
The order is deliberate. The first temple morning is Angkor Wat at sunrise followed by the walled city of Angkor Thom and the Bayon with its two hundred serene faces. The second day moves to the jungle-wrapped Ta Prohm and then out to Banteay Srei, the small pink-sandstone shrine to Shiva with the finest carving in Cambodia. The third is Phnom Kulen, the mountain where the Khmer empire was proclaimed in 802 CE, with a river bed carved with hundreds of lingams and a hilltop reclining Buddha. The last full day is the lake: a boat through the floating villages of Tonle Sap and a visit to the Artisans Angkor workshops.
A licensed English-speaking Angkor guide accompanies all temple visits, and the three-day Angkor pass is included in the price. Siem Reap is a small, friendly town with many Indian restaurants, so breakfast is at the hotel and dinner is arranged at vegetarian-friendly places each evening. Afternoons are kept light because of the heat, with the option of a traditional Apsara dance dinner or the night market.

Good to know before you book
- Indian passport holders need a visa for Cambodia. The tourist e-visa (USD 30 plus a small processing fee, single entry, 30-day stay) is applied for at evisa.gov.kh and normally issued in about three working days. Visa on arrival is also available at Siem Reap airport for USD 30 in cash. Passport validity of six months is required.
- Air passengers must also fill the free Cambodia e-Arrival card at arrival.gov.kh within seven days before landing and show the QR code at immigration.
- The Angkor Archaeological Park pass is USD 37 for one day, USD 62 for three days and USD 72 for seven days (Angkor Enterprise, 2026). Your three-day pass is included and is checked at every temple; keep it on you. Phnom Kulen has a separate ticket, also included.
- Dress code at all Angkor temples: shoulders and knees covered. The upper level of Angkor Wat (Bakan) is closed on Buddhist holy days and children under 12 are not allowed up; it also has a steep stairway.
- Cambodia uses US dollars alongside the riel for almost everything; carry small-denomination dollar notes in good condition. The dry, cooler season is November to February; March to May is very hot and June to October brings afternoon rain and the fullest Tonle Sap.
