Introduction
These terms apply to every yatra and travel service booked with Yatra to Temples, trading as Yatra to Temples, based in Dehradun, Uttarakhand (“we”, “us”). By confirming a booking, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and everyone travelling in your group. Our Cancellation & Refund Policy and Privacy Policy form part of these terms.
Booking and payment
- You can book in two ways: online, using the “Book this yatra” form on any package page, or through an enquiry by call, WhatsApp or our call-back form, after which we send you a written plan and quotation.
- A booking is confirmed only after you accept the quotation and we receive the advance of 30% of the package cost, and we confirm the booking to you in writing. If you pay the advance online and we cannot run the yatra on your chosen date, we will offer you another date or refund the advance in full.
- The balance is payable 15 days before departure (for helicopter and Kailash Mansarovar packages, as per the operator’s schedule shared at booking).
- Where a package page shows the “Book & pay advance” button, payment is processed securely by Razorpay (UPI, debit and credit cards, netbanking). We never see or store your card or UPI details, and we do not add any payment gateway fee to your price. For payments outside the website, please pay only by bank transfer or UPI to our official account: the account details printed on your booking confirmation. We will never ask you to pay into a personal account that is not listed here.
- Prices are quoted in Indian Rupees. GST is charged as applicable under Indian law. Our GSTIN is shown on every invoice.
- Quoted prices are based on costs at the time of quotation. If government taxes, fuel prices or supplier rates change before travel, we may need to revise the price, and we will inform you before doing so.
Your responsibilities as a yatri
- Correct details. Names, ages, ID numbers and phone numbers given for registration, permits and helicopter tickets must match each yatri’s government ID exactly. We are not responsible for refusals caused by incorrect details given to us.
- Documents. Carry original ID (and copies) throughout the yatra, along with your registration confirmation and any permits. For Kailash Mansarovar, a valid Indian passport and all visas and permits required by the authorities are mandatory.
- Fitness. You must be fit for the yatra you choose. Please tell us in advance about any medical condition, recent surgery, pregnancy or mobility needs, so that we can plan suitably or advise against a route.
- Conduct. Please follow temple rules, local laws and instructions from authorities, our team and drivers. We may end the services of any yatri whose behaviour puts others at risk, without refund.
- Belongings. Take care of your own money, jewellery, phones and luggage.
Health and high altitude
Many of our yatras go to high altitudes with cold weather, thin air, steep paths and long road journeys. Altitude sickness can affect anyone, regardless of age or fitness.
- Please consult your doctor before booking, especially for senior citizens and anyone with heart, lung, blood pressure, sugar or breathing problems.
- Some routes require a medical or fitness certificate, and authorities may carry out health checks along the way. A yatri who is not cleared may not be allowed to continue.
- Carry your regular medicines and prescriptions. We are not medical professionals and cannot give medical advice.
- Any medical, evacuation or hospital costs are to be paid by the yatri. We strongly suggest suitable travel and health insurance.
Itinerary changes
- Mountain conditions change quickly. We may change the order of visits, the halts, hotels or the timings because of weather, road conditions, government orders, temple timings or safety concerns.
- If a hotel named in the plan is unavailable, we will provide a similar one.
- Extra costs from delays outside our control are payable by the yatri, as explained in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
Helicopter and other third-party services
- Helicopter services, hotels, camps, ponies, palkis, porters, trains, flights and overseas partners are run by independent providers. We arrange these on your behalf but do not operate them.
- Kedarnath helicopter tickets are sold only through the official IRCTC HeliYatra portal, subject to its rules and availability. We cannot guarantee helicopter seats, and flights can be delayed or cancelled due to weather or orders from authorities.
- Each provider’s own terms, safety rules, baggage and weight limits apply.
Limits of our liability
- We take reasonable care in choosing and arranging services. We are not liable for injury, illness, loss, damage, delay or extra cost caused by third-party providers, natural events, government action or acts of the yatri.
- Where we are found responsible, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the affected service.
- Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be excluded under Indian law.
Photos and videos
We may take group photos or videos during a yatra. We will use them on our website or social media only with your consent, and you can ask us to remove them at any time. Please respect the photo rules at temples, as photography is not allowed in many temple areas.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Dehradun. We would always prefer to resolve a concern by talking to you first.
