Highlights & Route
Kashi is said to hold more temples than any other city in India, and a pilgrim with only one day has to choose. This circuit follows the sequence that local priests and long-time residents consider the essential Kashi darshan: the Jyotirlinga at Kashi Vishwanath, the goddess who feeds the city, the Ganesh who guards the way, the Bhairav who polices it, and the Durga, Hanuman and Shiva temples of the southern half of the city. Ten temples, one vehicle and a coordinator who knows the quickest lanes between them.
We start early at Kashi Vishwanath, where the queue is shortest soon after the Mangala Aarti. Dhundhiraj Ganesh and Maa Annapurna are within the same complex, and from the corridor it is a short walk down to Manikarnika Ghat for Ratneshwar Mahadev, the small leaning temple at the water’s edge. A drive to Vishweshwarganj brings you to Kaal Bhairav before the day gets warm.
The afternoon covers the southern temples: Durga Kund, Sankat Mochan Hanuman, Mrityunjay Mahadev near Daranagar, Kedareshwar on Kedar Ghat and Chintamani Ganesh. Time at each is kept to around half an hour except at Kashi Vishwanath, where the queue decides. A puja thali for the main darshan is included, and our coordinator takes care of lockers, footwear and the order of visits so that you can concentrate on the darshan itself.

Good to know before you book
- Kashi Vishwanath darshan can take anywhere from one to four hours depending on the day; Mondays, Shravan, Mahashivratri and holiday weekends are the slowest. The rest of the circuit is planned around this.
- Phones, cameras, bags and leather belts are not allowed inside Kashi Vishwanath; most other temples on the route allow phones but not photography of the deity.
- Sugam Darshan tickets (paid, shorter queue) are sold only on the temple trust’s official website and are not part of this package.
- Durga Kund is nicknamed the monkey temple for good reason: keep prasad and spectacles out of reach.
- Kedareshwar and Ratneshwar are reached by ghat steps; during the monsoon flood the lower steps and sometimes Ratneshwar itself are under water.
- Meals are not included; we stop for a vegetarian lunch at a time that suits the group.
