Highlights & Route
The Braj Chaurasi Kos Yatra is the circuit of the whole land of Krishna’s childhood: 84 kos, roughly 250 km, around Mathura and Vrindavan. Pilgrims have walked it for centuries, usually over a month or more, visiting the villages, groves, hills and ponds where each episode of the Krishna lila is remembered. This package covers the same sacred ground by private vehicle in seven days, staying in one comfortable base so that no one has to pack and unpack every night.
Each day is given to one part of Braj. Mathura and Vrindavan come first, with Krishna Janmasthan, Banke Bihari and the evening lights of Prem Mandir. Then Govardhan hill and its kunds, Barsana and Nandgaon on their hills, the Shani temple at Kokilavan, and finally Gokul, Raval and the forests of Bhandirvan and Belvan across the Yamuna. A free day at the end lets you return to the place that touched you most, or simply sit in a temple courtyard.
Braj is crowded, hot in summer and full of narrow lanes, so we plan temple visits for early morning and late afternoon and use e-rickshaws where vehicles cannot go. The pace suits elderly parents and families with children. Devotees of all sampradayas are welcome; our local team knows the darshan timings of each temple, which change with the season, and plans each day around them.

Good to know before you book
- Temple darshan in Braj follows the day-cycle of the deity, with the doors closed for several hours in the afternoon. Banke Bihari, for example, opens roughly 7.45 am to 12 noon and 5.30 to 9.30 pm in summer, with winter hours an hour or so later; we check the current timings before each visit.
- Nidhivan and Seva Kunj in Vrindavan are closed after the evening aarti and nobody is allowed to stay inside; the night is believed to belong to Radha and Krishna.
- Vehicles cannot enter the inner lanes of Vrindavan, Gokul and Barsana; the last stretch is by e-rickshaw or on foot. E-rickshaw fares are paid directly.
- Monkeys in Vrindavan snatch spectacles, phones and food; keep them inside a bag while walking.
- Holi (February or March) and Janmashtami (August or September) are the great festivals of Braj and draw lakhs of visitors; Kartik month (October to November) is pleasant and busy. May and June are very hot.
- The traditional walking yatra takes 30 to 45 days; this vehicle version visits the main sites but does not follow every step of the padayatra route.
