Highlights & Route
Pathankot is the railway junction where the Punjab plains meet the Chamba hills, and the shortest road to Bharmour and Manimahesh begins here. Trains from Delhi, Jammu and Amritsar arrive early in the morning, so a Pathankot start lets you reach Bharmour the same day with time for the Chaurasi temples in the evening. This is the most economical of our Manimahesh packages and the one most of our Delhi and Punjab yatris choose.
The way up runs through Dalhousie and the meadow of Khajjiar before dropping to Chamba and climbing again to Bharmour, which sits at about 2,100 m and is the place to spend a night getting used to the height. The trek follows: Hadsar to Dhancho on the second day, Dhancho to Gaurikund and the lake on the third, and the descent on the fourth. The fifth day is the drive back to Pathankot by the direct Chamba road.
The lake at 4,080 m is reached only on foot, by pony or by helicopter, and the camps are simple tents. We provide a trek guide, oxygen and first aid, and include every meal from Bharmour onwards. If anyone in your family cannot trek, ask us about the pony and palki rates or the helicopter sector from Bharmour, both of which can be combined with this package.

- Online registration on the official Manimahesh Yatra portal is compulsory for every yatri (Rs 50 per person in 2026) and is checked at Bharmour and Hadsar. We help you register.
- Hadsar to Manimahesh Lake is about 13 km on foot with a climb of roughly 1,900 m to 4,080 m. Ponies, palkis and porters are available at Hadsar at administration-fixed rates, paid directly.
- Camps at Dhancho and Gaurikund are tents on sharing basis with sleeping bags and shared toilets; this is the normal standard on the yatra.
- Nights at the camps are close to freezing even in September, and rain is common; carry warm layers and a raincoat.
