Highlights & Route
Kedarnath is the highest of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The stone temple stands at about 3,583 metres in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, with the Mandakini river below it and snow peaks behind. Reaching it is part of the devotion: the road ends at Sonprayag, a shared jeep takes you 5 km to Gaurikund, and from there a 16 km mountain path climbs to the temple.
This yatra is planned for families and first-time yatris who want the journey handled for them. We start and finish in Dehradun, break the long drive with a night at Guptkashi, and give you a full evening and morning at the Dham so darshan is never rushed.
Cancellation charges are counted from the date we receive your written cancellation (email or WhatsApp), as a percentage of the package cost: 25% if cancelled 30 days or more before departure, 50% between 15 and 29 days, 75% between 7 and 14 days, and 100% within 7 days of departure or for no-shows. Non-refundable items paid to third parties (yatra registration fees, helicopter, train or flight tickets, permits, visa fees, non-refundable hotel nights) are deducted in addition and refunded only to the extent the provider refunds us.
Date changes requested 15 days or more before departure are made without a change fee, subject to availability and any fare difference. Refunds are paid to the original payment method within 10 working days of our written confirmation. The full policy, including force majeure terms, is on our Cancellation & Refund Policy page.

Good to know before you book
- Registration is compulsory. Every yatri must register, free of charge, on the Uttarakhand Government’s official portal (registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in) or the Tourist Care Uttarakhand app. Rules change each season, so we check them before every departure.
- Private vehicles stop at Sonprayag. From here, government-approved shared jeeps run to Gaurikund, where the walk begins.
- Four ways up: on foot, by pony, by palki (carried chair), or by helicopter from the Guptkashi, Phata or Sersi helipads.
- Helicopter tickets are sold only on IRCTC HeliYatra (heliyatra.irctc.co.in) and need a valid yatra registration first. They sell out within hours, and flights are often cancelled in bad weather.
