Highlights & Route
Kashi is the oldest of the twelve Jyotirlinga seats and the one most Indian families hope to visit at least once. This short yatra keeps things simple: you arrive in Varanasi, settle into your hotel, and spend two nights in the city so that the darshan at Shri Kashi Vishwanath can be done early in the morning when the queues are shortest and the mood is calmest.
The temple sits inside the Kashi Vishwanath Dham corridor, which now connects the sanctum directly to the Ganga at Lalita Ghat. From the same stretch of river you take a sunrise boat ride past the ghats, and in the evening you watch the Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. The second day also leaves room for Annapurna Mandir, Kaal Bhairav, Sankat Mochan Hanuman Mandir and a quiet afternoon at Sarnath, where the Buddha gave his first sermon.
We plan this yatra for families, elderly parents and first-time visitors. Our driver stays with you for the whole stay, we book your Sugam Darshan slot on the temple trust portal where it is available, and our Dehradun office is a phone call or WhatsApp message away at every step. You arrange your own train or flight to Varanasi; everything from the station or airport onwards is taken care of.
Route
Varanasi arrival → Dashashwamedh Ghat (Ganga Aarti) → sunrise boat ride → Kashi Vishwanath and Annapurna → Kaal Bhairav → Sankat Mochan and BHU → Sarnath → Varanasi departure
Good to know before you book
- Mobile phones, cameras, bags, belts with metal and leather items are not allowed inside Kashi Vishwanath. Paid lockers are available at the corridor gates; carry only your ID and some cash.
- Sugam Darshan (the paid, shorter queue) is booked on the temple trust portal, shrikashivishwanath.org. Slots are limited and the trust stops online bookings on peak days such as Mahashivratri and Shravan Mondays.
- Vehicles cannot enter the lanes near the temple. Expect a 10 to 15 minute walk or an e-rickshaw ride from the drop point to the corridor gate.
- The Sarnath Archaeological Museum is closed on Fridays. If your Day 2 falls on a Friday, we will visit the stupa and excavated site and skip the museum.
- Varanasi is very hot from April to June and crowded during Shravan (July–August), Dev Deepawali and Mahashivratri. October to March is the most comfortable time for elderly yatris.
- Breakfast and dinner are included; lunch is on your own so that you can eat near the ghats or at the many pure-veg eateries in the old city.
