Highlights & Route
For pilgrims flying in from south or west India, or from abroad, Kathmandu is the natural meeting point for Kailash. This programme begins with darshan at Pashupatinath, then flies you west to Nepalgunj and on to Simikot, from where a helicopter carries the group over the Karnali gorge to Hilsa on the Tibet border. Purang, Mansarovar and Darchen follow in the usual order, with rest days placed where the body needs them.
The heart of the yatra is the same as on every route: puja and the holy dip at Mansarovar, a full circuit of the lake by vehicle, and the three-day parikrama of Kailash over Dolma La. On the way back we break the journey at Dongba so that the last day in Tibet is not a rush, and the final night is spent in a comfortable Kathmandu hotel before your flight home.
Ten nights are split between hotels in Kathmandu, Nepalgunj, Purang, Darchen and Dongba and guest houses at the lake and on the parikrama. A Nepali yatra manager is with you throughout, a Tibetan guide joins at the border and the kitchen team cooks pure vegetarian food every day.

Good to know before you book
- The price is per person on sharing basis, excluding GST and TCS. Your flight to Kathmandu is booked by you; we advise arriving by afternoon on Day 1.
- Indian citizens need no Nepal visa but must carry a passport valid six months beyond return; it is sent to us about a month ahead for the Chinese group visa.
- Following the June 2026 MEA advisory we will not ask you to fly to Kathmandu until the Chinese visa and Tibet permit are confirmed.
- Simikot–Hilsa helicopters and Nepalgunj–Simikot flights depend on weather. Keep two spare days and book your flight out of Kathmandu for Day 12 or later if you can.
- Dolma La is about 5,630 m. The parikrama is optional; non-walkers wait at Darchen and pay those nights locally.
- Lake bathing is governed by local rules on the day; puja and water collection on the shore are always possible.
