Highlights & Route
Kedarnath and Badrinath are the two eastern shrines of the Char Dham: Shiva at Kedarnath, high in the Mandakini valley at about 3,580 m, and Vishnu at Badrinath on the Alaknanda at about 3,100 m. By road, visiting both takes five or six days of hill driving and a long trek. By helicopter from Dehradun, the same darshan fits into four days, with no trek and no overnight bus journeys.
This package is built around Sahastradhara helidrome in Dehradun. On the first day you arrive, meet our team and go through a short briefing on weights, baggage and timings. The next morning you fly to the Kedarnath side. Because the Kedarnath helipad is small and busy, larger helicopters land at Sersi and a short shuttle flight takes you up to the temple, which is a few minutes’ walk from the helipad. You stay the night near the shrine, attend morning darshan, and then fly across to Badrinath for the second night and evening aarti. On the final day you fly back to Dehradun.
Spending a night at each dham is the main difference from a same-day flight. It lets you take darshan twice, join the evening and morning aarti, and rest instead of rushing. It also gives the pilot a weather margin: mountain flights operate only in clear conditions, and an overnight halt means a morning delay does not cost you the darshan. This plan suits senior citizens, those with limited time, and families who want the experience without the Gaurikund trek.

Good to know before you book
- Helicopter seats have strict weight limits, generally around 75 to 80 kg per passenger including clothing. Weights must be declared exactly at booking; extra kilos are charged by the operator and a wrong declaration can mean losing your seat.
- Only one small bag per person is allowed. Leave suitcases in Dehradun; we help you arrange storage at Hotel confirmed at booking.
- Char Dham registration on the Uttarakhand government portal is compulsory for every yatri, even by helicopter. We complete it with you before travel.
- Flights depend on weather. Morning slots are the most reliable, and the day plan can shift by a few hours. Keep one spare day in your onward travel plans.
- Both dhams are above 3,000 m. Walk slowly after landing, drink water, and tell our staff if you feel breathless or dizzy.
- Phones and cameras are not permitted inside the temple premises at either shrine.
